Pam Brown

(a no-title title)

                     (dear amelia  dear andy)

idling around
staying outdoors
until the final ray

it’s awesome

so urban

*

seen any lately

silvereye  sparrow
lorikeet  bul bul
frog ?

*

phone photo-ing

it’s an extinct finch
pecking
a four’n’twenty pie

*

‘the  world’s  greatest  living  artist’
what’s
HE
doing now

*

taking it all
step by step
level jaywalk
to msg cafe

*

suddenly collected
by a rogue wave

trapped
in an air bubble

woke up
face down
on a mudflat
in townsville

*

cancelled everything
found the local
msg cafe

began babbling
in english
with memo
in mexican

admired a bunch
of yellow ranuncula
& orangey marigold
called ‘cempasuchil’

the flower of the dead

the translucent
golden tea
so good to drink

*

in a very mucky mood

wind bangs the gate
what to say

left alone
with
a big brown paper muji bag
full of
handmade black & white
cardboard masks
on cardboard handles –

karl marx
(moor)
marx’s wife jenny
(jennychen)
marx’s daughters
eleanor jenny
(poor eleanor
poor tussy)
caroline jenny
laura
&
jenny julia
taylor swift
(tay-tay)
baby johann
marx’s friend
friedrich engels
marx’s sons
edgar & henry
marx’s housekeeper lover
helene a.k.a lenchen
&
their son
fake father engel’s
freddy
&
dami im
beyoncé
joan baez
you, andy,
in your fake fur lined
puffer hoody,
conchita wurst
&
lorde,
any one of whom
could have been
substitute marx daughters

but

there was
no performance

what to say

we do nothing
say nothing

i hate standing here
with this bag of masks
this large muji
no name  –  無印良品
brown paper bag
full of cardboard heads
with cardboard handles
while
everyone’s off
doing their own thing –

clipping jonquils
pulling onion weed
drinking spiked ferment
watching time
dribble
down the wall
leaving
the greenish trail
travellers call patina

yeah yeah
it’s all just muck to me

*

essentially
dissembling
disgruntlement

c’mon
no
howling
in the ecotone
detourning
punitive
moral codes

slip slop slap

denying
childish
impulsivities

what’s that

impulses
in american?

just
have to
face it

or
confect some attitude

*

quick

unwrap
the chewy dragées
‘one idea on each dragée’

Add as friend

cachou
cashew
but no almond

Read palms

*

some other one dies
leaving
a tissue
of confessions
in their wake

save water
shower with a friend

could have been
a dragée idea

Take a selfie

*

every word
here
coming out
of this
world-destroying
mac mini
&
its cheap screen
should be
scratched on a bone
in a field

now
shut up
&
skip
to
main content

Tell a joke
